Scales

Major = F – F – H – F -F – F – H (2-3-)

minor = F – H – F – F – H – F – F (1-2-2)

Dorian = F – H – F – F – F – H – F (1-3-1)

6th Note of the Major Scale = Relative minor
3rd Note of the Minor Scale = Relative Major

Chords

Major = 1 – 3 – 5

Augmented = 1 – 3 – #5

Minor = 1 – b3 – 5

Diminished = 1 – b3 – b5

Sus2 = 1 – 2 – 5 (3rd suspends down – ear wants you to move up)
Sus4 = 1 – 4 – 5 (3rd suspends up – ear wants you to move down )
Lydian Triad = 1 – sus#4 – 5
Phryg. Triad = 1 b2 – 5

D Major Scale

Capital Roman Numerals = Major (Chord)
Lower Case Roman Numerals = minor (Chord)

C major 7th chord

Dominant 7 chords are very similar to major 7 chords and only differ by one note. To turn a major 7 chord into a dominant 7 chord, you just need to lower the added note by a half step. So you’ll have a root, 3rd, 5th, and a flat 7
