The sound of Rock music is the sound on a tube amp cranked to ungodly volume recorded through a (insensitive) Microphone (and run through a hot recording preamp) compressed to buggery and then played back through Hi Fi Speakers

A proper guitar amp is an instrument in and of itself. You don’t need to be learning to play an amp when you cant even play a C Chord

It’s hard to recreate that sound in your bedroom (or at least it used to be).
